Swane’s Cranes was established in 1958 with the purchase of a 5 Tonne backend crane.
Over the years the fleet has increased and the business has grown. Due to this, a restructure of Swane’s Cranes occurred in 2006 with Mr Robert Olsson becoming the new Owner/Director with many years experience in the transport and crane industry.
We then amalgamated yards and operate now from 120 Warren Rd, Smithfield which comprises of office, amenities, workshop, wash bay facilities, mobile crane & employee parking, along with storage space for all ancillary lifting equipment.
Many of the employees remained with the restructure of the company. Our operators & dogmen have many years of experience who take pride in their workmanship and the machines they operate. Our office secretary has also had many years experience dealing with our client base.
Our charter is simple, we undertake to supply well maintained machinery, operated by experienced personnel, to arrive on time, as ordered, ready and willing to complete the tasks at hand in a safe and efficient manner.
Our client base is secure. Our Customers have been with Swane’s for many years and have now become friends.
We have over the years been successful in gaining numerous Government and Semi-Government contracts which we continue to service. We have been able to do this not only with competitive pricing but also on presentation, attitude, punctuality and compliance.

We are constantly updating our fleet to best service our customers requirements.
The working environment has changed dramatically in recent years to a point where the paperwork is equally as important as the job.
It is to this end that we ensure all our documentation is compliant.
